We also don’t publish anything that contradicts basic safety guidance — especially around electrical work, structural changes, or lead-safe renovation. Posts should reflect real experience from your own projects, not contractor marketing material or promotional content in disguise.
We also skip posts that claim to be from a homeowner but read like a company is behind them. We can spot the difference, and so can our readers. Your voice matters here — the casual lessons, the specific details from your own house, the honest “I wouldn’t do it that way again.” That’s what builds trust. If you’re unsure whether your idea fits, ask first. We’d rather have the conversation early than reject a draft after you’ve spent time writing.
